周斌
1964年11月生于上海,文学博士,浙江大学人文学院书法心理学出站博士后,美国纽约大学中国书法跨文化心理研究访问学者,国家“孔子新汉学计划”首批博士生导师。
现为华东师范大学中华文化国际传播研究院常务副院长,华东师范大学中国书法教育与心理研究中心主任、华东师范大学传播学院教授、博士生导师。曾在美国哥伦比亚大学、纽约大学、里海大学、宾夕法尼亚州立大学、日本东京学艺大学等著名学府主讲书法跨文化心理研究课程。在联合国总部为潘基文秘书长及其他官员教授书法,2012年1月10日,策划“企盼和平”联合国官员与中国书画名家作品展,在国际上产生重大影响。多次受邀在中国驻美大使馆、中国常驻联合国代表团等机构开设中国书法与公共外交讲座,并在华美协进社举办首届美国中文教师书法高研班,受到热烈的反响,为中国书法海外传播的重要使者。

1993年获“谢稚柳书法艺术提名奖”,作品入展全国第四届、第八届书法篆刻展览、全国第八届中青年书法篆刻展览,海派书法晋京展等重大展览三十余次。论文在“当代书法创作研究暨中国书法如何走向世界—国际论坛”上获奖。
论文发表于《社会科学》、《文艺理论研究》、《心理科学》、《中国书法》、《书法》、《书法研究》、《中国文字研究》、《华东师范大学学报》等杂志报刊近五十余篇,先后在《中国书法》、《书法赏评》、《书法》、《青年文艺家》、《写字》、《书法报》、《书法导报》、《美术报》等专业刊物上作专题介绍。
主持全国艺术科学国家一般课题(2012)、教育部重点课题和上海市哲学社会科学规划课题多项,2007年度获国家博士后科学基金一等奖,2009年度获国家教育部新世纪优秀人才计划资助。
主编有《近、现代书法家大辞典》等,出版个人专著《阮元书学思想研究》、《东巴文异体字研究》、《书法与篆刻》、《赵体唐诗字帖》、《欧阳询与虞世南》、《齐白石》、《周斌作品集》、《跟周斌老师学书法》(VCD)、《书法自学教程》(合著)、《大学书法教程》(合著)、《中国书法简史》、《The Beginner's Guide to Chinese Calligraphy》等。

Prof. Zhou Bin’s Biography
Born in Shanghai in November 1964, Prof. Zhou Bin obtained his Ph. D. degree in Chinese Language and Literature at East China Normal University (ECNU), Shanghai and conducted past-doctoral research on Chinese Calligraphy Documentation at Zhejiang University. He is a judging expert of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (CPSF), Director of the ECNU Chinese Calligraphy Education and Psychological Research Centre, professor and doctoral supervisor of ECNU’s School of Arts and School of Communication.
Concurrently, Prof. Zhou also holds the following positions: research fellow of the Center for Japanese Studies, Fudan University; research fellow of the Ancient Characters and Calligraphy Creation Centre, China Academy of Arts; senior member of the Chinese Psychological Society; member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association; Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Young Calligraphers Association, Vice Chairman of the Professional Committee on Applied Psychology, Shanghai Psychological Society; bureau member of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association; board director of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
In 1993, Prof. Zhou won the Xie Yaliu Calligraphic Art Nomination Award. His works were selected for over 30 major exhibitions, including the Fourth and Eight National Calligraphy and Seal-cutting Exhibitions, Eighth National Young & Middle-aged Calligraphers and Seal-cutters’ Exhibition, and the Beijing Exhibition of Shanghai-style Calligraphy. His theses were published at the Ninth National Calligraphy and Seal-cutting Exhibition Forum and the Eighth National Seminar on Calligraphy Studies.
More than 50 works and papers by Prof. Zhou have been published in such magazines and newspapers as Social Science, Literary Theory Study, Psychological Science, Chinese Calligraphy, Calligraphy, Study of Chinese Characters and Academic Journal of East China Normal University. Special coverage of Prof. Zhou Bin is found in professional publications on Chinese Calligraphy, including Calligraphy Appreciation & Review, Calligraphy, The Young Artists, Chinese Characters Writing, Calligraphy Newspaper, the Calligraphy Monitor and Fine Arts Newspaper.
Prof. Zhou Bin supervised several major national and Ministry of Education research projects as well as some under the Shanghai Municipal Philosophy and Social Science Programme. In 2007, he was award the First Prize by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. In 2009, he received financial support from the China Ministry of Education as a New Century’s Outstanding Talent. Prof. Zhou is Editor-in-Chief of the Dictionary of Contemporary and Modern Calligraphers and of Calligraphy Evaluation & Appreciation. His books and publications include A Study on Ruan Yuan’s Calligraphic Theory, A Study on the Variants in Dongba Characters, Calligraphy and Seal-cutting, Zhao-style Calligraphy Specimens from Tang Poetry, Calligraphy Works of Ouyang Xun and YU Shinan, Qi Baishi the Great Chinese Painter, Selected Calligraphy Works of Zhou Bin and Follow Prof. Zhou Bin to Learn Calligraphy (VCD) . He is also a co-author of Calligraphy – A Self-taught Course, College Calligraphy Course Book and A Brief History of Chinese Calligraphy.
While conducting research on the intercultural psychology of calligraphy as a visiting scholar in New York University from 2011 to 2012, Prof. Zhou lectured and gave lessons in Columbia University and the United Nations and tutored UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon in Chinese calligraphy. As an important envoy in spreading Chinese calligraphy overseas, Prof. Zhou has created a great impact with his academic activities.
