读古代印论得“媚伴钝难”联

媚伴雅来,法协趣出;
钝难称古,碎不为奇。
——读朱简《印经》得联

——明·朱简《印经》曰:

“吾所谓刀法者,如字之有起、有伏、有转折、有轻重,各完笔意,不得孟浪。非雕镂刻画,以钝为古、以碎为奇之刀也。刀法也者,所以传笔法也。刀法浑融,无迹可寻,神品也。有笔无刀,妙品也。有刀无笔,能品也。刀笔之外而有别趣,逸品也。有刀锋而似锯牙燕尾,外道也。无刀锋而似墨猪铁线,庸工也。

——王辰玉云:‘古法圆,今法方;古用笔因字势,今用刀因印地;古寓齐于不齐,今寓不齐于齐;古取雅而得媚,今讳媚而失雅,自人耳。摹汉篆而不知其法,于是以粗硬为古雅,平满为整齐,牙角虬然,篆隶法离,而古人风流蕴藉之意都亡矣。’余尝云:工人之印以法论,章字毕具,方入能品。文人之印以趣胜,天趣流动,超然上乘。若既无法,又无逸趣,奚其文,奚其文?。”
